Special and Urgent Needs Fund – Irene Recovery
This fund was established to provide quick support to nonprofit organizations that were either affected by the flood or have seen a dramatic increase in demand for services because of the flood. Grants were awarded in amounts up to $5,000. We are no longer collecting contributions for the SUN - Irene Recovery Fund. The fund is in the process of spending down contributed money and as of April 11, 2012 is no longer accepting applications.

The Vermont Community Foundation is partnering with the New Hampshire Charitable Foundation on Irene response in the Upper Valley. The New Hampshire Charitable Foundation has awarded a total of $7,500 to two nonprofits in the Upper Valley; the two grants are not included in the above fund totals.
The first grants were announced the week of October 2, one month after the fund was established, and roughly two weeks after the applications were made available.
